The coming food shortage......

I will be picking up fertilizer and garden seed at my local co-op tomorrow. Will let everyone know how it goes. There's no doubt that food shortages and price increases will open people's eyes. There hasn't been a food shortage in this country since the Depression.

I was discussing this with my old pop just this afternoon. I didn't plant much last year. I think I'll plant much more this spring.

Prices for produce in general have gone up a lot, along with just about everything else.

Especially at Walmart...and the produce is poor quality. Even the dairy is poor quality. But then...they colluded with the gov't for the shutdown. Their business thrived while small business took a nosedive. NOW, Walmart can give us any old shit they care to and we have no alternative.

Keep in mind. Bill Gates is now the largest farmland owner in the nation and the Chinese have purchases millions of acres of farmland.

242,000 acres. Over 69,000 in Louisiana alone.

Not to mention the Chinese own Smithfield(and it's subsidiaries), thereby controlling the majority of the domestic, pork products market.

The Brazilians own most of the beef processing industry.

Foreigners own all the major domestic beer companies.

i cant stand this anymore from republicans. lots of food shortages. the main one being from 1942-1947. then you had the korean one of 1952-1955. then you had the 1966-1975 one.

Then you have the Biden one.

Looking at the view from the park bench, this country could use a food shortage.

Some folks have seen "sea" whales off the northeast coast of PR. I've seen larger in the cookie/chip aisle of Costco.

I find growing fruit and veges to be very difficult.

My wicking beds show good promise but I could never live off them.
