Leftist’s movement to erase Halloween in full-swing, and it’s just the beginning
A woke elementary school in Seattle has decided to cancel their upcoming Halloween Pumpkin Parade and will ban students from dressing in costumes for the holiday, claiming that it “marginalizes” students of color.
“Woke, Inc.” author Vivek Ramaswamy warned on “Fox News Primetime” Wednesday that this is part of the left’s ongoing war against anything fun and American. He accused Benjamin Franklin Day Elementary School of showing its “white privilege” for going after Halloween instead of taking responsibility for “failed school policies.” He also predicted that it won’t stop at Halloween but will spread to other American holidays as well.
“This is a movement that will not stop until it has torn down every American institution and every American tradition,” he declared. “And you mark my words, Thanksgiving is next, Presidents’ Day is next, the Fourth of July is next.”
“It’s coming and I think that this movement will not stop until it is stopped in return,” he warned.

Ramaswamy went on to comment that “nothing can be ordinary” on the left anymore.
“These are ordinary, fun traditions that bring us together,” he commented. “Halloween brings kids together irrespective of their skin color, irrespective of their race or where their parents came from.”
“As we turn each of those unifying moments into moments of division, that’s really what takes us to the brink of this cultural civil war that we’re on,” he posited. “I think the left and the right need to remember that these are occasions to have fun together… and not infuse a level of political seriousness into traditions that are supposed to be ordinary fun.”
The school released a prepared statement to KTTH Radio host Jason Rantz that suggested the holiday is a distraction and “uncomfortable for kids.”
Rantz didn’t hold back in his opinion of the school’s woke excuse for canceling Halloween, saying, “This year the only thing spooky and creepy is the school’s commitment to wokeness. What could be more equitable than having strangers give you free candy? Not to the school’s Racial Equity Team that decided with staff to gut Halloween.”
“Halloween events create a situation where some students must be excluded for their beliefs, financial status, or life experience,” the statement released by the school reads. “Costume parties often become an uncomfortable event for many children, and they distract students and staff from learning. Large events create changes in schedules with loud noise levels and crowds. Some students experience overstimulation, while others must deal with complex feelings of exclusion. It’s uncomfortable and upsetting for kids.”
The school asserts in an Oct. 8 newsletter that students will still recognize the fall season by participating in activities they claim are “more inclusive,” like a thematic study of the fall season and a lesson on autumnal artwork.
The newsletter thanked parents for their support which is confusing since parents were not consulted before the move by the Racial Equity Committee.
School Principal Stanley Jaskot threw his support behind the move.
“Halloween is a very complex issue for schools,” Jaskot told Fox News. ‘Yes, I agree this event marginalized our students of color. Several of our students historically opted for an alternate activity in the library while the pumpkin parade took place.’
“This was an isolating situation and not consistent with our values of being an inclusive and safe place for all our students – especially students of color and those with a sensitivity to all the noise and excitement of the parade,” he added.
The cancellation of Halloween using racial equity as an excuse was mocked on social media:

The school says ! The Newsletter states ! All these demands and all these woke citizens never have a name or personal identity so we can confront them . When will one of these cowards comes out in public and can be identified with a name and a address ? Instead a smoke and mirror organization makes demands and nobody admits responsibility . They cower when the idea of a one on one confrontation is possible and we relish that chance .Elizabeth Theus wrote:A woke elementary school in Seattle has decided to cancel their upcoming Halloween Pumpkin Parade and will ban students from dressing in costumes for the holiday, claiming that it “marginalizes” students of color.

We give the vermin too much credibility , we tolerate their foolish demands - they are the wizard in Oz and nothing more .
