None of that flooding had anything to do with, nor was connected to the Mississippi river in any way.

Out of this catastrophy, the Cajun Navy was born.

And, sail on.

Grassroots initiative at its finest.  Really, I cannot overstate my respect for those guys...give me a million of those, and we could set the nation right.
the crew of the Seacor Power and their family wishes the Cajun Navy had been more efficiant in its rescue attempts of the 13 crew members.

That disaster occurred well offshore in Coast Guard territory. UCN efforts are centered on onshore rescue .

They did concentrate a huge search effort along the coast and in the marsh for possible survivors and bodies.

Unlike the nogs in NOLA, Acadians are not going to wait around for the federal government to take action.

the dead were found 30 miles away, and when the Cajun Navy was critisized for its lackluster efforts ( timeline hidden by seacor and talos ), they pulled plug and fled the area. i think the critisisms were about the amount of money given to CN and what it was doing for it. you previous explanation about differing entities overseeing the rescue attempts are in error, as its basically whoever tries to help is welcomed. ( the families are seeking 25 million for each lost person )

Wasn't the CN's responsibility. And you're right, whomever tries to help is welcome.

i know it wasnt CNs responsability. they did attempt at least a deployment, but left and i dont know when they deployed, if they deployed, and when they left if they indeed did deploy. nor how much money was given to them for the attempt at helping. all i know is there was a critisizing large enough for them to abandon to help.
