Question, who got hit

I have several email accounts. One I use mainly for personal and another I have never used. Today I received an email from "me". It was sent to about 30 people I only know one, (my stockbroker{, and someone at Morris4x4. He got my full name, another email account, but not this one. So, who got hit? He didn't seem to send to anyone on my address book.

Not me.

I've been hit a few times, But mostly by people I've pissed off,,

I got a group mail yesterday from an acquaintance. People I know, but have never emailed. They found it somewhere.
Wanted me to get on an LSU score board. $25/square/week.
10 × 10=100 squares for a payout of $2500/week.

I get hit periodically like that from my own email address. Usually demanding money or they will release my 'porn videos'. Good luck with that lol.

Lately I've also been getting hit from what looks like the legit address of my internet carrier saying I haven't paid. I just delete them all now.

I've been getti g mails from American express every week telling me I have a pending charge on my account and to log in with my password and info.

I never had an AE account in my life.

I keep my InterwebZ activity to a minimum.

I like cash, not EFTs. I have four email accounts...right now, me as an urban hermit, I could have them all Cancelled and the effect would be minimal.

I haven't noticed anything.

I got an email from a wannabe scammer, he sent an email to me which supposedly came from the same account. He didnt access contacts or anything else, but tried to shake me down for bitcoin.

So I thought through it and what he did, looking at various hacks I heard of I believe that he used an open SMTP server to send an email to me. It is along the same lines of old fashioned spamming, use a program like bmail and type up an email and put in your To: and From: addresses and send it off.

Yes it would scare some people into coughing up but it is just bluffing.

Usually you might encounter these types of scammers on pastebin type sites, I understand that these scammers are Iranian hackers.
