Good article. I was reading some similar articles last week. Mountains of used, stacked, and covered panels are piling up at landfills.

They should be treated like nuclear waste is what i'm hearing.

Why would somebody get rid of their existing panels to get newer and more efficient panels.  It's already installed.  Use it until it doesn't work and add a newer and more efficient system to your array.  Instead of sending them to landfills, we should be refurbishing them and selling them cheaply as used.  Many people would love to have a couple of cheap solar panels on their remote chicken coops or boat docks. It's not about being green with the government. It's about control and increased taxes.
