Republicans and Democrats: Are our brains different?
During today's research for a future book, I ran across a comment concerning our brains comparing the adolescent brain to the adult brain.
This is the takeaway line: "The adult brain is better wired for cognitive control compared to the adolescent brain, which is more influenced by emotions, rewards, and social acceptance when it comes to making decisions."

Doesn't this seem to be the difference between Democrats, more influenced by emotions, rewards, and social acceptance, and Republicans, better wired for cognitive control — the ability to suppress impulses in favor of more appropriate actions?
Just as men and women are different so too, are Republicans and Democrats. Republicans are from Mars. Democrats are from Venus.

I think those are important distinctions and seem to fit the description.
I think the vile creature known as the liberal has only enough brain as to be commanded to obey any false command, blindly.
The collectivist is not capable of independent thinking or survival.
However, there are a few Democrats with functioning brains.

There is strike evidence that people who lean left suffer from sincere cognitive dissonance. They don't appear to mind contradicting themselves; more to the point, noticing that they are.
Frankly, I think they suffer from arrested development. As the article states:
We use terms like "short-sighted," a little too liberally, maybe.
Frankly, I think they suffer from arrested development. As the article states:
For whatever reason, people on the Left refuse to "grow up," and that, in all sincerity, may literally impede the ability of their brains to grow.An adult brain differs from an adolescent brain in many ways. Between childhood and adulthood, the brain loses gray matter as excess neurons and synapses are pruned away. The rate of loss slows down by a person’s late 20s. At the same time, some brain regions strengthen their connections with each other, and the major nerve tracts become wrapped in insulating myelin, which increases the brain’s white matter. White matter volume peaks around age 40.
We use terms like "short-sighted," a little too liberally, maybe.

Short answer? YES!
Is it only me or did it only become noticeable after 2016?

It started in 2015 with the brain salad disease called Trump Derangement Syndrome. :arrow:Red Lily wrote:Short answer? YES!

It certainly became extra prevalent by then, but, given a nudge, you likely recall "Billy Bo Bob could do no wrong," followed by everything being "Bush's fault."Red Lily wrote:Short answer? YES!

But yes, ALL of the facade came off, when Donald J. hit the stage. Like Hawk said, TDS hit HARD.

If you look up TDS in the dictionary, there's a picture of Leanne.

Yes, 'tis. And I imagine, to keep people's attention on the shiny object in the room. Not helping much. The "People's Act", (always named w/opposite of what these 'Bills' are), has gone viral. lolRed Lily wrote:And it's still in play.
Not exactly funny, but, as Janis Joplin said, "Get it while you can!"
