Re: Concerning My pup Belle
Great , heart-warming episode if youve got about 20 minutes.

Re: Concerning My pup Belle
Earl Hamner was a Virginian and lived on the eastern slope of the Blue Ridge mountains.
Hamner went on to write and produce two long running shows.
The Waltons
Falcon Crest
He was a good actor too, imo.

When i die, i hope i go to dog and cat heaven.
There's a separate "heaven" for dogs and cats?
Just a separate gated community where they run free with their humans.
There is a great Twight Zone episode where a man and his dog are going to heaven at the same time.
He meets up on the road with the devil first, who pretends to be god.
The devil tries to trick the man into Hell but he must leave the dog behind. The man refuses.
As he walks further down the road , he meets the real heaven greeter who explains to him that that the previous encounter was really the devil. They both enter heaven.
God welcomes animals , too.
Ummm, ok. That has a scriptural basis or that is just your opinion? If there is a scriptural basis, what is that scripture?

This is one of those situations where people will claim all sorts of things that they will say as if they are fact when they really are only an opinion. The Bible is the only way that prevents this sort of mis-information, disinformation or just plain misleading information.

You know...i've heard it said that the best way to heal from the loss of a loved pet is to get another quickly. Well, both times i've run into that situation in the past 20 years and it is hard to transfer your love from that deceased pet, but it can happen...but you know...it seems to be a hesitant shift because now you're aware of the pain involved with the loss of the new one.
This cat that i had rescued....seems to be more blind than i previously thought. I'm not sure what she can see. I know she follows my voice. She went from totally incommunicative to now she sits at my feet and wants the, i assume, comfort of my presence and touch. She wants to stay upstairs with me but she won't sleep in my room yet. She sleeps in the sunroom in a hooded cat bed that i just bought for her less than 2 weeks ago. I had to introduce her to it and initially when i got her in it she sticks her paw out and couldn't find the floor...it was another inch away. As soon as she figured that out, she was fine and she loves it. Same way with the littler box downstairs. she has to go down 13 steps and she sits on each one feeling her way. She loves half and half. yes i give her a little as a treat once in awhile.

Re: Concerning My pup Belle
I know what you mean. We lost our Pom of 14 years in 2022. It took us until this April to get another little male Pom. He's 7 months old and only weighs 7.5 pounds. He's half the weight of our other guy. Although, this one thinks he's a Siberian Husky! Tough little fart.Calypso Jones wrote:You know...i've heard it said that the best way to heal from the loss of a loved pet is to get another quickly. Re: Concerning My pup Belle
I just saw this. How awful to see loved ones go. If you do get another dog, sometimes it helps to talk to your new dog about your old dog.
My step granddaughter has come to live with her cat nd her overly emotional pit bull and the neighbor's cat they didn't want. He's 15 years old, belonged to the dad who passed away. I have never seen an animal in that kind of shape still alive. His fur was gone in patches and falling out where there was still some left. He was skin and bones. His teeth were black and his breath stank. They took him to the vet who said this was a case of severe neglect and starvation. Prognosis, 6 months of pain.
He's fine now. No more bones showing, cat dental water and feline greenies pretty much cleaned up his teeth. Fur is plush. He's my velcro kitty.
