But again maybe I missed the corrected report .

It's been covered; but the answer is un-sexy.

The shipping channel is a tangent once the cargo ship is aimed and direction stabilized. Sal Mercogliano ( https://www.youtube.com/@wgowshipping/videos ) has covered that several times, in his breakdown. He's a former Merchant Marine second mate and now a naval historian at a university; and started his channel when he was contacted for background on the Ever Given incident in the Suez. So, his background is established, and his rundowns, credible.

This was routine. Two tugs got the Dali out, turned around, and cast the lines off. As they do with every ship that ties up at one of the handful of terminals in that elaborate port. The reasons why they don't proceed further are twofold: Cost, and space. To tie the tugs up for 4x the time would mean they'd need four times the tugs; and the shipping channel is narrow. Tugs forward and astern would take up more space than a ship alone, and would make meets in the channel more problematic.

Thanks for that info Casey . I've never heard them give any particulars from just before it hit the bridge - just that they had a problem with power and someone had complained about not dropping anchor . Now I can stop continuing the conspiracy theory on my side .

"Conspiracy theory"?? I've never heard ANYONE (except Sprint), claim that there was EVER a "conspiracy theory" about anything. I've heard all sorts of thinking people's ideas about what may have happened but, I've never heard anyone claim that there was some sort of "conspiracy". I've heard Democrats, Socialists, Communists and liberals claim all sorts of things as "conspiracy theories" though.

If the truth were just transparently related with no subterfuge, it would put an end to the ideas as thinking people would know the truth. I guess that is not the liberal way though. Thus the saying: "If you want to offend a Conservative, lie to them. If you want to offend a liberal, tell them the truth."
