Define "Safe"...
It was exciting! The player hit the ball straight down the line but, up high. The player took off running the bases. Soon they were rounding third base and heading for home plate. A split second after they slid into home plate, the catcher caught the ball. “Safe” the umpire said! The player was safe and the crowd erupted in a cheer as the game was won!
The game was exciting but it got me to thinking. Life is not “safe” but, very dangerous. Taking the car out could result in an accident. The accident may involve an impaired driver or someone could hit you because they are preoccupied and not paying attention. A vehicle malfunction could mean that the brakes won’t work or worse. Lots of things could go wrong or you may drive to wherever you are going without incident.
Drive over a bridge? It may collapse. Drive on a paved road? An earthquake could happen while you are driving, virtually destroying the road. Then of course there are landslides, washouts and carjackings that may interfere with your “safe” drive. Plane crashes could end your life. Automobile accidents could end your life. Any number of illnesses could take your life. As a matter of fact, you may as well stay in your house, never go out, never have anyone in, never take a phone call, never go to work and never allow a repair person in because it could be “dangerous”.
You climb into the elevator with no question about whether it’s going to take you to the correct floor. The truth is that the elevator could malfunction plummeting you and everyone on board to their death. The elevator could malfunction or it may work flawlessly, anything is possible.
You’re sitting at home minding your own business or you may even be in bed asleep. A home invasion could change things dramatically. A fire could break out, the electrical system could malfunction or a water pipe could burst. Many things could happen or you may spend a quiet evening at home and nothing go wrong.
You go out for a peaceful walk. The sky is blue and the Birds are chirping merrily. You kid yourself that nothing could possibly happen to you just going for a walk. Suddenly a criminal comes into view. They are on you before you can react. The criminal produces a knife and demands your jewelry and wallet. The criminal assaults you and tells you that you are to keep your mouth shut about this. While these things could happen, they may not.
Biking could result in the wheel coming off, getting hit by a car, the bike being stolen, you being assaulted, murdered or any number of other possibilities. Biking could also result in you being healthier, happier and less stressed.
You are peacefully sleeping in your bed. You consider just before dozing off that you and your family are completely safe. You are suddenly jolted awake by a noise. You shoot out of bed to find that your home has been ransacked and the thief has cleanly escaped through a first story window. You check on the kids and find that they are also “safe” and sleeping peacefully. You pick up the phone and dial 911 but, the crime has already occurred and your peaceful sleep has already been interrupted. While this scenario could happen, you may sleep through the night with no interruptions to your slumber.
A plane could crash into your home, you could be hit by lightening or a sudden wind could destroy your home and kill your family. Anything is possible.
You could have Cancer, Heart Disease, a Stroke, Diabetes, a Brain bleed or some other disease or you may not. The disease may take your life or you may die of something else.
The media and the Democrats are pushing the “vaccine” and trying to get as many as they can to take it. The “vaccine” could prevent the virus, it could kill you, it could make you sterile, it could give you health problems several years from now or the “vaccine” may not do anything. Anything and everything is possible, feeling lucky?
My point in all of this is that the definition of “safe” has apparently been warped, changed or manipulated. Living will result in death and there are no guarantees of “safety” for you nor your family. There is virtually nothing that you can do that is “safe”. You could catch the Wuhan virus, you could have symptoms, you could end up in the hospital, you could end up on a ventilator OR you may not even have symptoms nor realize that you currently have nor have ever had the Wuhan virus.
