Copycat Costco all american chocolate cake recipe
https://preppykitchen.com/ultimate-chocolate-cake/
[b]For the frosting: (I dont remember where I got the recipez: 1.5 cups unsalted butter, 1 cup cocoa powder, 4 cups powdered sugar, 2/3 cup milk, 1 tbsp vanilla
Instructions: melt the butter in a large sauce pan. Once melted, whisk in cocoa powder and let cool to room temp. Add the cooled chocolate mixture to a stand mixer (or bowl for hand mixer) and whip on medium speed until fluffy. Add powdered sugar (sifted) and milk alternating them 1/3 at a time and mixing well between each addition. Add vanilla and a pinch of salt if desired. Sometimes, I add a little more cocoa powder if it's getting too light with the powdered sugar/ milk and it works just fine, just be sure to sift that too if you add it later.
For the chocolate flakes on the side, I just buy some high quality chocolate and temper it (poorly, but I try) and chop it up and place it around the outside.
