Payments to hospitals for covid care
............ CLAIM: U.S. hospitals are earning a $48,000 government subsidy for every patient that dies from COVID-19 in their care.
AP’S ASSESSMENT: False. Hospital industry officials and public health experts confirm the federal government provides hospitals with enhanced payments for treating COVID-19 patients, but the payments are only currently applicable to those on Medicare. The enhanced payments, which are slated to end in May, also aren’t contingent on a patient’s death but on the treatment or services provided to the patient, they said.
THE FACTS: Social media users are claiming American hospitals have a financial incentive to let people with coronavirus die under their watch.

I guess you missed the part about "AP’S ASSESSMENT". Rather convenient, no wonder you aren't from America! Maybe you're just another foreign agent working for the Bidet Administration?

Hospitals don’t get more money for listing COVID-19 as a cause of death, but they do get payments from Medicare if a patient has a COVID-19 diagnosis.
I believe it was a Trump $100 billion initiative to test, diagnose and treat uninsured patients. If you think that wasn't exploited I have a bridge to sell you in the Sahara.
It wasn't $48,000 though and I think I read it was something like $13,000. So the $48,000 claim is false but the rest isn't.

That is exactly what people were claiming, and it wouldn't surprise me to learn that the AP stuck in that "$48,000" number just to throw a wrench in the rest of the claim.Red Lily wrote:Sprintcyclist wrote:............ The one thing I did not know is that this applied to Medicare patients, only. I was under the impression that the $13,000 was to [supposedly, cough-cough, ahem-ahem] compensate for the cost of treating ALL COVID-19 patients.
IMNTBHO, Trump treated this situation horribly, and he'd be better off to keep his yap shut about it.
One thing I do know: The Associated Press is about as trustworthy as a coyote.

I couldn't care less about your opinion. What I do know is that Bidet has deliberately trashed the economy, U.S. energy independence, U.S. worldwide opinions, U.S. military preparedness and thinks that law abiding Americans cannot be trusted with firearms but, thinks that terrorists are more trustworthy. As far as the WuFlu goes, the lockdowns, mask disinformation, employment threats, 'Vaccine mandates', etc., etc., etc. that BIDEN implemented are far worse than ANYTHING that President Trump did or didn't do. If President Trump, his administration, his family or his supporters had done HALF of the crimes or took even HALF the bribes that Bidet has, the Democrats would have crucified him AND his family! IMO, the fact that he has been relentlessly pursued and harassed is proof that President Trump did represent the average American.

Re: Payments to hospitals for covid care
I've watched medical overdevelopment continue for a few years as a couple of area hospitals were built or expanded in this area without anything like a need for more hospitals -- like bugs flying around looking for something to nosh on. I suppose they could rent out empty facility space for room and board, like motels or something if that ever should occur to them. I'm sure there are probably volumes of law that would have to be negotiated to ever do that however. Someone should write a book on it: How to convert your hospital into something that makes money and some kinda sense while it's idle of nuclear holocaust victims. Could be a best-seller.

It was $13,000 for a covid "diagnosis"with death ! In the US.
And almost $40,000 if they killed you with a ventilator!
