it's sorta like the same thing that happened to Electrolux. Don't buy electrolux it's now owned by another vaccuum maker. Aerus is the original.

I knew there was something different but i couldn't remember or pinpoint what it was...i didn't even THINK to look for it online!!!

Well, I don't know if that's true - although I have no reason to doubt it.

But if Corning is going to sell/license substandard product...because they're now controlled by Lizard Men, like most modern businesses - why not just make the PYREX stuff crappy, too? Most of us won't appreciate the difference - once some glassware shatters while you're cooking, that is IT.

A shame, though. I bought my ex a full set of Corning orange-tinted glass frying pans and saucepans. They were a little slow to heat, but cooked well and stayed clean. And very attractive.

But that was 35 years ago.
