There is hope after all

Last summer my youngest step son reached out and we have had conversations, texts and emails since then. We finally made arrangements and the middle and youngest came down last week. The eldest is in 2 bands, but is coming down early fall. I have not seen them for 25 yrs. the middle child (they are all in their 50's) has had the most remarkable change. When I last saw him he was somewhere between Marx and Lenin politically and economically. I was prepared to walk on eggs while listening to his love for Biden........................wellllllll, cudn't abin mor rong. His opening salvo was aimed at Jack Smith. He has an IQ in the mid 150's. He came up with woids and frazez I hazn't hurd in quite sum time. When asked what happened? he replied "I matured". He works for the county as some sort of social counselor. Has a Masters in some social program. In addition he is gay. ( I would venture that is quite rare).
As for # 3 son, he has similar beliefs and has been for as long as I can remember, but he too is taking an interest. His G.F. however is more than interested, she gave me new insight on how bad the feminist movement has been for women, the family and society as a whole. Overall it was a most refreshing reunion. Each expressed how much I had positively influenced them. (Interesting as I don't recall that, other than none drink or smoke) No recriminations over leaving their Mother. (Far and away one of my bigger mistakes). Tomorrow is Fathers Day, I have already received a couple of emails expressing same. This is the first time in a very long time that I have a family.

Well...to all who are celebrating it one way or another...enjoy the day.

My father's dead 24 years; and I have no kids. Nor do my siblings have kids.

Because of the horrific social-political situation we're in, I'm more-or-less celebrating THAT.

@JMWinPR, congratulations on such a wonderful, loving reunion! God bless you and your family on Father's Day, and hereafter.

I did give their Mother a 2002 (not a Ti) for her birthday in 80.
Her initials were BAW. My Mother's were BMW and she never got one.
