Damned near every kid is raised by the grandma.
And she did a good job!
He knew exactly who she was. And didn't put up much of a fight .
Or else . He'd have to go back to school .

There is a narrative that one parent can do what God intended TWO parents to do. What we're seeing with criminal behavior and the drain on social services is the result of one parent households.

My wife and I raised TWO children and it took BOTH of us to do it!

Women AND Mothers. Won't see either one of them coddling that son/grandson if he starts wearing nailpolish and mincing around the house.

I don't think anyone other than the matriarch would do that. And two. Who says he did something in the store. Maybe he got his butt beat for leaving the house, not doing his homework, disrespecting his mama or grandmother......

Because somebody who cared enough to refuse to put up with disrespect was there reminding him of that very fact.

Hon, that's the way mama's and gramma's in the hood have run their home for years and years - with success. Aunty down the street was more than prepared to fill in, if need be.

And the kids learned how to behave themselves, show respect, stay in school, and be a contribution to society.

Which isn't to leave out the dads. Times was, 'just WAIT until your daddy comes home!', was just a common a phrase w/them.

No 'hoods' here and for that I'm grateful. Lol

Oh, no. That's was my story. My mama put up with telling me that bedtime story while rocking me every single night for I can't tell you how long. At least a year, I'll bet.
She'd try something different, and I'd insist, "Oh, no, Mommy. It's supposed to be Little Red Riding Hood." She suggest others, and I'd not be contented 'til she broke down, and did the 'right' one.
