TV/DVD series Empty TV/DVD series

Just started the series '1883' , a prequel to 'YellowStone'

My recommendation - Skip the first 45 mins of the whole series.
It's just americanised glorification and justification of extreme violence.
It's unwarranted, meaningless and detracts from what might be a watchable series.

I bet you had your lunch money stolen from you every single day, right up until h.s. graduation. That is, if they allowed you to graduate.

TV/DVD series 1089991879 Sprint, just because you haven't lived through a civil war or an Indian war or any other sort of war on your home soil doesn't make it glorified, nor is it justifying extreme violence. It's how it was. SURVIVAL of the fittest.

The wild west would certainly not be a place you would have survived.

Having said that the main characters, Faith Hill and hubby Tim McGraw, were pretty bland. 1923 was much better imo with Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren but don't watch that either if you find the early days of the wild west intimidating. It's just how it was.

Well, hang about a minute there.
None of us has ' ........ lived through a civil war or an Indian war ........ '

I'll bet though, the first 30 minutes of this was more violent than any 12 years in the 'wild west'.
It started off with a gore fest that was totally meaningless..

has anyone else seen 1883? What is your review?

To add to my review, the actors/actresses look stupid with perfect hair, perfect complexions and luminous teeth when 'on the trail'.
They NEVER get hat hair. My hair looks worse after a night asleep in a king sized bed.

According to this unrealistic series, whoever is the most violent is right, wagon trains can lose most of their supplies, or be blown away by a cyclone yet there is STILL endless ammo to kill anyone within sight.
Oh, yes, a father has a tender moment with his daughter, by telling her about ALL the men he has killed .

I rate it now 2/5 and dropping quickly.

It's the time and the culture.

I haven't lived through a war and neither has anyone else here (except maybe Vietnam across the sea) but the difference is their grandparents/relatives etc have and on home soil. If your forbears have to live by fighting for their survival the culture obviously differs than those who don't.

We must have watched a different series because the 1883 series I watched had Faith Hill with rat's nest hair in every scene.

Don't watch 1923 because there are guns there too!

Sprint that's a photo shoot.  It's not her in 1883.

This is her in 1883. You really consider this "perfect hair" and well coiffed?  It sure looks like a rat's nest to me. Lol
