It's not a matter of grasping it nor spelling it out either. Your comment sounded like a Democrat, always blaming the Republicans. If the DemocRats are so great, why are they not "fixing" things like illegal immigration, jobs going overseas, the electric grid vulnerabilities, the push for battery powered EVERYTHING, China buying up all our farmland, cheap Chinese goods in all our stores, etc., etc., etc.? Instead the Democrats are so corrupt and just make things WORSE all while lying and claiming that it is the Republicans (i.e. President Trump, his supporters, patriots, Conservatives, et. al.) at fault.

Good grief.  The man was simply stating a fact:  President Nixon did start it all.  And much of the GOP did cheer it on, in more ways than one.  

How is stating facts making an excuse?  And yeah, it is a matter of not grasping what he was saying.
