The Ballad of String Bean and Estelle

Folks , for those not familiar, the ballad tells the story of String Bean and his wife's terrible murder, along with footage of the Browns. One died in prison. The other you see in this video was denied parole for the 4th time.

Unfortunately he was finally granted parole last week I think, after being sentenced to 198 years behind bars.
It's pretty powerful.

I agree it was disappointing not to see more Opry members there. Most of the old timers are gone.

Grandpa Jones found the bodies. It must have been hard on him and caused him grief for a long time.

SB was Bill Monroe's banjer player before Earl Scruggs( Beverly hillbilly theme song) and Monroe demanded only the highest quality musicians.

And they had the time to do it before SB and Estelle got home. I like to dwell upon the great things SB brought us.

But if people knew the manner in which SB, and especially his wife were murdered, Brown should have never gotten early parole. He should have gotten 2 death penalties. I'd pull the switch or take aim. His parole date was set for 2053.

There are documentaries about the killings if people desire to learn more. I watched one with the lead detective in the case. His description of his initial viewing and details of Estelle's body was chilling and graphic. He said it was something he would never forget

Here's an idea:
Put his fate up a vote by a panel of social scientists and other criminal justice experts from academia, who would be required to provide their reasons for their decisions publically for all to hear and read. Publish that in hard copy -- the paper and wherever, but hold them accountable to the publc - the taxpayers -- for their decisions.
