No Sugar Energy Bars

I'm going to make this but I'm going to use Butterscotch chips instead of chocolate.

Im not a big fan of raisins or dates, so your plan might improve it

I changed my mind and made oatmeal/butterscotch chip cookies instead.  Used the recipe off of the BS package . It was a lot of work and dishes but they sure are good!




Said it would make 36 teaspoon drop cookies. I got 40 tablespoon size cookies.
Had to do 2 batches.

used to makek big batches of Quaker oats recipe oat meal cookies and i'd divide the batter and put nuts in one, raisins in one, nuts and chocolate chips in one, chocolate chips in one and butterscotch chips in one. I thought my kids liked the butterscotch ones but just found out a couple years ago that my daughter did not like those. ALL this time.

Once i decided to cut out some traditional dishes fromThanksgiving/christmas dinners and found out pretty quick that they were not happy with that. Cut out sweet potato casseroles....i had to make it for the next meal of leftovers.

They are very sweet. Almost to sweet. Lol
The QC(quality control) man has tested 4 so far.

That was the same way with those dreamsicle cookies i made. TOOOOO sweet.

I just put the cookies in a Ziploc. I looked on the oatmeal box and there was a recipe that made about half as much and was much simpler. Not sure how good those are but I might give it a try too.

If I use this recipe again, I'll cut  both the granulated and brown sugar in half and use only about half a bag of chips I stead of the whole bag.

GHQ was making a new recipe.....chicken and dumplings.... i looked at her recipe and said, ' you better cut that thang in half'.  Thankfully she did and she still had to give it away.  She gave me a batch of it.   It was yummy and i took the last third of it and made it into a chicken and dumpling soup with more peas.    that was tasty too.

Have  you ever made a recipe and it was terrible??  I have ...some kind of cherry bars. It was a terrible waste of good cherries.   I only use cherries now in my new recipe curried baked fruit.  peaches, apricots, apples, pears and cherries.   wow.
