Volvo Electric trucks
........... Volvo Trucks says the start of series production in its heavy-duty truck range will give it the broadest electric truck line up in the industry. It has already sold 1,000 units of its heavy electric trucks, and more than 2,600 electric trucks in total, and by 2030 it expects that electric trucks will account for 50 per cent of all its truck sales, and 70 per cent in Europe. ...............

Re: Volvo Electric trucks
The batteries that will needed to be replaced in 15 years ( that's a current estimate ) cost $5000 to $18000 right now so naturally the price on those will be higher in 15 years . Truck batteries because of loads being hauled and continuous daily use will be unprofitable for business to purchase . Volvo is hoping that the government will aid in the disposal and grants when the batteries die out . Right now the technology isn't there and I doubt it will ever be . Fuel cells or another powered source will eliminate EV vehicles and their non sustainable power source .

Re: Volvo Electric trucks
What's the dollar amount $$$ of these vehicles?
How many batteries does it take to run one?
Is it cost effective to replace new batteries? Or just as well to buy a new rig?
Is there any business in place to accept the worn out batteries? How much $$, if any, drop-off fee?
How is it, exactly, these used-up batteries are treated? What is the impact on the environment?
Are battery operated haulers allowed to pick up hitchhikers?
