The spy balloon apparently was first spied drifting over Billings, Montana.

Make that the Aleutians, or so I read. So DoD was well aware of it before it got here.

I think perhaps they want to know how Americans feel about having a communist government spying on them.

Wasn't a weather balloon, either.

It was a literal TRIAL balloon.

A trial...to see if their assets, placed in the WH, Congress, the agencies...are loyal to their paymasters, the Chin.

The test worked. The military only acted when even the lying mediuh publicly wondered why they did not.

Expect dozens more of these....and then, when it becomes a non-event, expect one of them to be carrying a surprise.

I think it's more likely that China was testing the US capability to jam their radio signals. Since they were able to continue to control its flight path right across the country it proved that they could continue to send and receive signals and can avoid US jamming techniques.

Preparation for the future. Next time could be something worse.

Someone should have shot it down and sold it or its parts on the internet, show these commies what free market trade is about.
