My wifi started expanding..... i called verizon and they replaced it quickly..no charge to me. I guess i got it before it exploded in fire.

LOL these things are freakin' dangerous.

I never leave them charging unattended.

wifis have a lithium battery. The battery was expanding because of charging i guess. i caught it before any fire developed. They expressed mild concern but not to fully explain it to me. Now i know.

I once had a wife that expanded, not fire though.

Lithium batteries are different to MiMh or lead acid batteries.

They have to have a charger designed for a lithium battery.
A lead acid battery charger on a lithium battery will cause real problems.

You are correct on that one. I think it is NiMHh. And those were only half as good as the NiCds they replaced. With care you could get close to 800 on a NiCd, NIMh were stretched at 350. Granted they were much lighter, but more expensive. Cd is not an environmentally friendly metal.
