Re: Three Generations
for a brief period of time..... we had four generations living....my grandmother, my mother, me and my daughter. My children knew their great grandmothers. My grandchildren only know their grandparents...us.

Re: Three Generations
I knew my great grandparents.
I stole some of ole pa's Beech-nut backy once and took a chew.
They found me sitting on ground with my back against a big pecan tree, too dizzy to walk. Lol.

Re: Three Generations
I introduced my 2 oldest boys to my great grandmother. We had 5 generations in one room. It was one of my proudest moments.

Re: Three Generations
My children have photos and know the names of their great grandparents and great great grand parents. I may be lucky enough to live to see some of my great grand children.
My son in laws father saw his great great grandchildren and then he died suddenly after the family had gone to visit him for Thanksgiiving three years ago. His wife passed that way too. Unexpectedly one night and she was gone. Maybe that is the best way. They had 7 kids, 5 boys and 2 girls meaning many to carry on the family name. My family name has died out. well..this branch anyway.

I don't know which is worse. Seeing your grandparents get old and die or being the grandparent and knowing you may not see your grandchildren or great grandchildren grow up. My family name is likely to go on. I have 3 sons. My oldest has 2 daughters and claims he is finished. I don't think my 2nd will ever get married. My 3rd is my last chance for my last name to keep going. I'm confident that he'll come through. His girlfriend has 6 siblings, so maybe I'll have many more grandkids.
