First of all, that isn't happening, spritzy, and your projecting personal delusions onto society won't make it so.

The Democrats have weaponized the government AGAINST the citizens so it's no surprise at all.

It doesn't take much to change a state's political climate.
Virginia was once a conservative state. Colorado, 25 years ago, was conservative.
Texas remains so; but I see the signs. Houston and Dallas and especially Austin, are all turning Leftist, at a very rapid pace. The California influx, and the increasing control that academics are exercising over state government.
perhaps it is a sign they are maturing and becoming more intelligent, richer?
Sure.
Like Illinois, New York and California.
Like Oregon.
Like Washington.
All states were social spending (the Dole) has exploded; where crime is off the scales; where chaos and violence are everywhere.
In California, it's impossible to walk the sidewalks of any major city without stepping in HUMAN SHIT. Sound like progress, richness, maturity?
