I hear ya. Pretty well what I said, agreeing w/a commenter following one of the articles you linked. Those Bush's don't take too kindly to anyone messing with their plans for power and privilege.Calypso Jones wrote:you want to know the biggest reason the rinos are going after Paxton?
Because he handily beat George P. Bush.

Texas senators have acquitted Attorney General Ken Paxton on 16 articles of impeachment. Paxton was accused of misusing the powers of the attorney general’s office to help his friend and donor Nate Paul, an Austin real estate investor who was under federal investigation.
The House impeachment managers insisted that they proved their claims of bribery and corruption, arguing that the jury of 30 senators had no choice but to convict. Paxton’s defense team successfully argued that the case was full of holes, circumstantial evidence and misdirection.
Sen. Angela Paxton, the attorney general’s wife, was prohibited from participating in deliberations or voting.

Ken Paxton was not guilty. The witnesses admitted they had no real evidence, only circumstantial. What was the main crime? Was there a smoking gun at all? If you watched the trial, you wouldn't even be able to tell. The prosecutors and witnesses were all over the place.

That "circumstantial evidence" quickly falls apart too.
-Nate Paul never directly gave money to Ken Paxton (Wikipedia lied about this). He only donated to Paxton's AG campaign.
-There were no renovations to the countertops or cabinetry of Ken Paxton's home. Photographic evidence debunked that.
-One of the witnesses claimed he believed the AG's office was corrupt, yet he applied for a job there under the recommendation of a Democrat who said they would be "excited" for Paxton to be impeached.
-One of the articles of impeachment claimed that Ken Paxton failed to act as a public protector of charities. There is no such law that says the AG must blindly protect every single charity. If Paxton committed a crime, why accuse him of breaking a law that doesn't exist?
The whistleblowers were fake Republicans. They mocked Sarah Palin in text messages, but apparently not Joe Biden or Kamala Harris. So they're Democrats and thus liars. They illegally removed Ken Paxton's signatures in letterheads. They are the ones who should have been on trial.
Paxton’s attorney, Mitch Little, who cross examined Penley, pointed to Penley’s handwritten notes from August 13, 2020, which state Paxton was “possibly” being bribed. Little asked Penley, “you had absolutely no evidence, physical, documentary or circumstantial that Ken Paxton was being bribed by anyone, did you?”
“I had circumstantial evidence,” Penley replied.

Re: ken paxton runs from the law
The first witness claimed that he deletes every text message or email if it doesn't acquire further action, but keeps notes on OneNote. How weird. Amazing how someone would see someone like that as a credible witness. Also, he and every other witness asked claimed they didn't know how much Johnny Sutton would charge them in attorney's fees. Additionally, when asked if he pretends to not hear the question to throw off attorneys who are cross examining him, the answer the Texas Ranger gave was "maybe". How can anyone claim the witnesses are serious people?
Sprintcyclist better start actually watching these cases next time instead of blindly accepting our corrupt media's take on them. Anyone who voted to convict Paxton must be evil. The defense's case was outstanding, and the witnesses looked like comedians.

The Dems and RINO's of RX ought to ashamed of themselves, but the sad fact remains that they don't know how.Calypso Jones wrote:https://www.texastribune.org/2023/09/16/ken-paxton-impeachment-vote-deliberations/

I also forgot to mention the eviction moratorium from the CDC is what stopped the foreclosure of Nate Paul's house. There is just so much evidence to debunk the charges that it's difficult to figure out where to start. Their "circumstantial evidence" was complete trash.Wyatt Earp wrote:Ken Paxton was not guilty. you can fool all of the people some of the time and some of the people all of the time but you can't fool all the people all of the time.

Apparently you can fool just enough people to install a demented buffoon into the Presidency...
