I watched Gunsmoke a few times as a kid but was never really a devotee.
On Shatner, I love love loved him (and James Spader) in Boston Legal which was one of my favorite shows at one time.

I actually never got into that one. I know why you watched it though!

(Wasn't there a different doc in the early b&w's? And there is a different opening in the earlier series. Starts out w/Matt Dillon walking through "_____ Hill." It's a graveyard.)
30 minute, Black and white; first season I think.
Yep, in the beginning, I recall Matt Dillon walking through Boot Hill.. with his own
over dubbed description of Boot Hill and his job.
