American Chestnut Trees

Such majestic trees like the once, vast stands of American Bald Cypress.
Yet, a much more important tree for foodstock and livestock.
I would have loved gathering chestnuts. I could have made some serious money.

I like gathering wild things. Like pecans, muscadines, maypops(passion fruits), blackberries, persimmons, sassafras leaves( gumbo file' powder), figs, citrus, and an occasional blonde.

Had a pecan tree back when I was living in northern Florida.  Picked up enough for a pair of new dress boots.
Used to pick up walnuts here.  Five of us all pitched in whenever we had the time.  Averaged $8/hr. - ALL of us, not EACH.  Made me feel like I had STUPID stamped on my forehead.  lol

As for those chestnuts - yes, majestic is the best word for it.
