Engineering - by country
We buy specialised equipment from all over the world.
Different countries seem to repeatedly produce equipment of a similar 'build'.
American stuff is very good. Very rugged, durable. Can be a bit 'clunky'. Customer service is excellent.
I'm going to buy a US made aluminium rafter square for my woodworking at home.
Can guarantee I could hit it with a hammer, run over it with a car and it will be totally unfazed.
German made stuff is highly overrated.
Expensive, delicate, service is not good.
Best gear is from Japan. Just a delight to use. Totally reliable. VERY well designed and manufactured.
