Dog Walkers

I have this young liberal couple that lives down the street from me. We used to get along fairly well.

Two days ago I was working in the yard early one morning and they passed by with the dog and their young son of about ten. Smart young fellow. I shook his hand and asked him what he wanted to be when he grew up. He replied, "I want to be able to make sure all the homeless people have houses and everybody has enough to eat. Especially the drunk guy that hangs out behind the store."

His parents eyes gleamed with liberal approval!

I told him, if he would like to come back and help me, I would pay him twenty dollars but I warned him about the heat and told him I would have a lot of limbs to haul to the road and after we finished, I would pay him and take him to the store so he could give his twenty dollars to the drunk.

He thought for a few seconds and exclaimed," Mr. Hawk, why can't the bum come and earn his own money?"

I shook his hand once again and told him, "son, welcome to the Republican Party."

His parents are not speaking to me.

if only it were that easy.

Not that easy, but I love the story.

I have a couple of liberal friends, I am a friend of the husband, and when regaling his wife with the story of me smacking one of my neighbors guests out with a deck chair she was absolutely horrified, totally convinced that I had committed some heinous crime , and why hadn't I been arrested , I wasn't able to explain to her that you have the right to self defense, , The upside is he wasn't black, I probably would have whacked him twice if he was, as their sculls are a little thicker lol

That is also a consideration when contemplating today's homeless. It might be no one's fault that they're homeless, just their choice. Indeed, a few years ago I recall reading about a mid-level corporate executive who spent his summer vacations riding the rails as a hobo!

mightve gone better had you told lil timmy to gather every dog and cat turd he could find, and youd give him 3 cents a piece. he could then give the wino the bucket of turds for fuel, and the pennies to the safeway money counter. and should Timmy wish to give Curtis Lowe all the turds, to make sure he brought his parents along as well.
