Cocoon

Take away from me,
My eyes if cant see,
Take away from me ,
My legs ,
If I cant run,
Take away from me ,
My mind ,
If its not me,
Take away my words,
If I dont speak,
Take away from me ,
My heart,
Release it gently
Into the sky,
The wings of a butterfly,
You may see,
If so,
The butterfly,
Is me....

I'm in a creative slump so some of my poetry will be a copy and paste of poetry I have written and posted elsewhere over the past year or so. Hopefully I will find my creative groove soon. I think seeing some of my past work may Inspire me and on a perfect day have meaning to others

I wrote this poem regarding.tbe chains that may bind us. Being the chains of ones own mind , chains of anything that keeps us from soaring into the greatest heights of our own selves
This poem is about the chains of addictions, love or societal.



Stardust....

Waking up in the middle of the night,
Sweating but not sure,
Whether to flee or fight,
I laid wakened,
In my darkened bedroom,
Still not sure if its day or night,
I felt peace,
But not at ease,
Had I been running?
Was that my sweat ,
Or was I in a field of flowers,
Among them as one ,
Sunning,
As my concious mind returned,
I smiled while inside I churned,
Was I in chains ,
Was I in hell,
Had I died and not very well,
Why was I scared,
I felt a need to be free,
A need to run behind a tree,
Who was it invading my mind,
Why was I scared,
Though the voice seemed
Familier and kind,
Where did that person go?
Where did that person come from,
I dozed off once more and slept,
Then woke myself with my scream,
It wasnt a a dream you see,
The person I begged
To " let me go free",
Was me....

"Twilight"

I walk along ,
Lifes busy mile,
I stop to cry,
I move to smile,
Were things that I lost,
Things simply not found,
Were yesterdays reasons,
Steadfast or just seasons,
Were things that mattered to me,
Simply thrown down,
Cause I'd rather be free,
Is life a price we all pay,
In darkess we dwell,
To understand day?

Where did you go?



I think about life
Thru a thousand tears ,
Looking back it seems
A million years,
The days when only
Brightness shined,
Not just a shadow
Of a mind rewind,
A time when troubles were so far away,
When night was night ,
And day was day,
How did we lose that,
Where did it go?
Where someone somewhere
Would always know
When mom or dad
Would wake you and say its ok,
It was just a dream,
I'll stay awake with you anyway,
I'll think about those times
Until I fade away..

Fever

Look at me ,
Then look away,
I am not your prize ,
I can see right thru you,
Without looking in your eyes,
Rant and stomp,
Thats your romp,
Or is it a disguise,
Stand up straight ,
Do not wait,
I'll cut you down to size,
You're a sweet,
Sugar cube,
How could I despise,
Say it once or think it twice,
I'll still call you wise,
Pucker up ,
A big ole kiss,
For someone I despise,
Hold me close,
Have no fear,
I'm one who holds you near,
When crying out your tears .

The look of your,
Burning desire,
When you smile,
I see something sweet,
You are so beautiful,
From your head to your feet,
I hand you my kiss ,
Never say good bye,
If you did,
