Will someone PLEASE make sense of this quote:

Senator Hyde-Smith’s position on the Second Amendment has not changed. The underlying measure placed before the Senate was one to keep the government operating and help the people of Ukraine fight an unhinged foreign dictator. Senator Hyde-Smith does not support the mentioned VAWA provisions and will continue to fight to protect Second Amendment rights.

Just WHAT, pray tell, does our protected 2nd Amendment assurances here in the U,S. have to do with anything going on in Ukraine?

On one hand, nothing. On another hand it absolutely shows the hypocrisy of the Democrats. The Ukraine government has been handing out AUTOMATIC WEAPONS to their civilians in hopes that the civilians will fend off the Russian Troops. Democrats by and large seem to support the Ukrainians fighting the Russian troops and the Ukrainian government giving its citizens AUTOMATIC WEAPONS to fight with. Those same Democrats seem to "think" (and I use the term VERY loosely), that U.S. civilians should be completely unarmed, unable to defend themselves and totally vulnerable to any wannabe criminal who wants to steal from them, assault them or victimize them.

The double standards, the hyperbole and the ridiculousness from the left is deafening!

Yes, they're hypocrites deluxe, but I see what happened here - which makes it not one bit better. Whoever(s) wrote the bill tucked in a the gun bill in with budget - which would help fund the Ukraine.

We've had a few good Reps along the way who've screamed bloody murder over the need to put an end to that nonsense, but we see how far that's gotten them/us.

Either way - no Republican had any business signing ANY PART OF THAT BILL.

The difference is that the Dems are not trying to defend the US from and external invasion , they want to disarm the people so they cant fight an invasion from within

wake up. thats what the repugs want to do also. that and promote child sex and farm sex. and have miguel cut the front lawn.

Our representatives are getting the big paychecks with great benefits and have "cushy" jobs so that they READ each and every bill BEFORE they vote on it. I'm still convinced that the "Obamacareless" bill had all sorts of socialism in it which was buried in its vast pages. Had our representatives done their job and read it BEFORE it was passed, they would have discovered the unconstitutional parts.

The fact that Nancy Pelosi wanted people to vote on it BEFORE they read it should have been a clue that the Democrats had cheating in mind.
