Not Sleeping Well
Got any ideas? Haven't been sleeping well. My mom passed earlier this year. And my wife got called back to work. New schedule. 11 PM to 7 AM. Been alone at night. Got some other issues but a lot weighing on me.

Sorry to hear about your mom. Meditative/relaxation techniques? If you can shut down the mind the body will follow.

Melatonin seems to work but it can give crazy dreams.
Also, magnesium cream/ salve rubbed on feet or pulse points and naval (believe it or not) is good for relaxation.

Melatonin puts me out for about 5 hours with no side effects. I take 2 10 mg strawberry gummies 10 minutes before bed. They taste good too.

Pray? in bed. I wake up and most of the time this will put me back to sleep. It's relaxing and it may do you and the country some good.

Cut the caffeine after the first couple hours in the morning. Make sure you get some physical exercise each day.
Melatonin occurs naturally, it's secreted by the pituitary gland, and natural secretion decreases with age. You're young to have it happen so soon, but it might.
You might have sleep apnea. Have you been told you snore? If you have, you probably have it - and it will REALLY interfere with restful sleep.
You could try various tranquilizers or a shot of heavy booze before going to bed. That will vary based on your own body's reaction, as well as with any issues you have with drugs or alcohol. Go with caution; but if you don't have any red flags, self-medicate.
We're all on pins and needles. Just waiting for the other shoe to drop...

I've had sleep issues for years and have tried all the above measures and more.
Even the natural remedies have a lingering effect the next day and are temporary fixes at best. The only thing that really works for me is reading at bed time. Works like a charm. Get a kindle.

I read every night before sleep but I like a paper book in hand. They say computer screens suppress melatonin and mess with your sleep.
