Question about a forum's format?? Empty Question about a forum's format??

Post by Lummy Mon Feb 07, 2022 12:48 pm

A forum I have used for years has suddenly lost its formatting (or something). It comes up looking like a a sentence diagram. It is of no use like that. I suspect the solution is a simple tweak of some kind, but I don't know.

Any ideas?

Yes Lummy. Somewhere in settings or elsewhere you can choose to view the forum in linear form or otherwise. It's been a while since I've loolookjed for that. Every now and then I will see it though. You prolly hit something by mistake.

Sometimes you have to clear the cache too. And power down. At vbulletin, frequently I would get a linear looking setup like that. Especially with older versions like 4.1.8 and 4.2.0.

Something goes awry in the loading process. I'll look around later.

Lummy, make sure you are on the full, web, desktop version and not the mobile version. Using a tablet I frequently get switched to the mobile version.
Hard for me to tell what you are seeing without a screenshot.

Wow, that was fast. Thank you much, Hawk. I really didn't think anyone would know what I'm talking about, (so at least) I'm back on a path to solving the problem ... woo-hoo! I'll let you know ...

Never had this problem before . I can't insert a picture from my file for some reason . When I click on the box in the header an empty box that used to show " insert files " shows without the insert file function . My video function still works as far as I know but inserting pics doesn't - Amazon Fire tablet

@Daily Bread , this happened to me last week and this week.

I guess it's some kind of glitch. I might try a minute or two later and it works fine.
Or it may take a little longer a few tries. I'll see if I can find out more.

Thanks for the heads up . At least I know it's not just me. Lol.
I use a tablet too.

Do you have WiFi? And are using it?
I'm on LTE with one or two bars out in the sticks.

Something similar happened to me last week too. There were lots of blanks but when I refreshed the page it was fine. It happened over a couple of days then stopped.

Maybe you're slow catching up DB? Lol

Down here we can only get to the bars by boat!
Gettin there ain't a problem. Getting home in the dark is, though.
I use my frog light.

In case of obstacles or low water grounding issues, I drink Leaping Lizards! Gin and 7-up with a twist of lime.
That way you just jump the log or sandbar.
