ONLY Dry Red is the best wine for mulled wine

JUST in case you wondered and if you are so inclined you should only use a dry red for mulled wine...sometimes a semi dry wine if you can't find the dry.  I rather recommend Apothic Red, if you're so inclined to destroy a good red wine for Christmas.   I am.

Mulled wine sounds super....but it aint. Don't ruin a good bottle of red wine.

Mulled wine brings to mind snow and sitting in front of a roaring fire.

yes it does. Old crhristmases with yule logs and snow and warmth by the fire.

Then you sip it and make a face. LOLOL

Years ago I had this boyfriend that was a pilot. We flew all over the place. Once was up to Tahoe. I remember this winery, we sat on this ultra comfy sofa basking in front of the fire drinking mulled wine. There was a heavy snowfall outside. It is one of my most peaceful memories.

I'm glad. I wish i had that recipe because mine did not cut it.

I've had some good dessert wines that i bought in California. strawberry, chocolate. Can't buy california wines in Virginia...only Virginia wines. blech.

Re: your link. (Choosing the right wine) I went through a phase in life where I swore that if I heard the word, "Shiraz," one. more. time..."
