I can see the reasoning behind Dads wishes.
He gave his estate out on who helped him, who he liked and who needed it the most.
One brother is a multimillionaire - so he needs nothing.
Dad really liked some of his grandkids, so he gave them some.

Dad sold his house cheap to my younger brother - that brother lost his house in a very bitter divorce and had no house.
So now he has one.

It is not equitable, but is is reasonably fair.
And, it's Dads money anyway. He could do whatever he wanted with it

He made significant late changes to his will and the split is inequitable.

It has caused massive disruptions in an already disfunctional family.
There were all sorts of aggressive abusive letters sent and false baseless allegations made.
Many lifelong relationships are broken beyond repair I believe.

My brother did his best to talk our mother into leaving her worldly goods to the grand children. I objected to this, she has since changed her mind, as she has fallen out a little with him and his kids, Im the golden boy now lol as I have been over a few times to help her with the garden and have been ringing her every couple of weeks, , she's 88 and a little worn out ,

I told the brother that if he wanted to give his share to his kids then by all means do so, But don't try and deny me my share

I have seen wills changed several times over the years due to advice
given to the testator by legal advisors or a family member.
This advice is simply based on their personal opinions...(or bias)
My late mother in law changed her will to give all her 12 grandchildren
a share of her estate, rather than give their share to my sons (her late
daughters children...)
Each of her three other children received 25% of her estate.
The remaining 25% instead of being divided into three equal
shares for each of my three sons....went to her 12 grandchildren...
(which of course included my sons...)
The mathematical difference in distribution was considerable...
Bitterness ensued.....

I wouldn't give my kids a hard time if she had left it to them , But I have spent considerable time and money to ensure my children have got the best education possible, so that they can go out and be productive and financially successful, my daughter has finished her bachelor of engineering degree and has a well paid job, my son has a year to go on his computer sciences degree, And this inheritance would come in rather handy at the back end of my innings, It will probably be in the region of 400k + and I would be happy to give the kids a chunk of that, Providing they haven't pissed me off to much by that stage lol

My experience.....doesn't matter if they're "blood-related", or adoption.....family is pretty much all ASSHOLES. Our bio-mother decided we were a rock around her neck for finding her next man, so she drove to one of her brothers and sister-in-law's one night on the pretense we had come to visit, and during the night packed up and left her 3 daughters behind. Nobody heard from her for over 3 years. My bio-father was a pedophile. My adoptive parents and their families.....all they EVER have done, and STILL do after all these decades is remind me I'm NOT part of their family because I'm not "blood-related" to anyone. FUCK THEM ALL!
