The Deception
I have always believed that “the deception” talked about in the Bible was going to be UFO’s, Aliens, the Wuhan virus, the “vaccine” or some other such nonsense. Upon looking at scripture and praying more, it seems clear to me that those things will not be the deception talked about.
So, I first went to my dictionary to figure out what the word deception actually meant, (as opposed to my opinion of what it meant). The dictionary defines a deception as an illusion or fraud. A lie in other words. There aren’t really a lot of ways to interpret it without completely twisting and lying about it.
I pondered what could possibly be worse than the lie that the rapture was actually Aliens instead of God Almighty? It didn’t hit me at first. I had to think and pray long and hard about it. I had to study scripture before I had an idea of what the Lord wanted me to understand. Because I am so dense, so ignorant and so sinful, I am certain that the Holy Spirit was working overtime to get me to understand what it all meant.
Eventually the pieces came together. Eventually I understood what scripture was plainly telling me. I thought that the deception would be obvious and easy to spot but, I was wrong. God and His Holy Spirit is patient and kind with even someone as dense as me.
The deception revolves around the idea that the devil does not exist. As the person sinks deeper and deeper into sin, they convince themselves and other gullible people around them, that the devil and sin does not exist.
Once they have deceived themselves that the devil and sin does not exist the next step is a little easier. The next step is that God Himself does not exist. If God, the devil and sin doesn’t exist then, one can do whatever they like with no penalty, no accountability, no judgement and no consequences.
No sin, no punishment, no accountability and no rules. The deceived live their lives never even aware that they have been deceived. The deceived flit from glittery thing to glittery thing pursuing that which strikes their fancy and adds to their drifting away from God and towards the devil. The deceived convince themselves that they are “living life to the fullest”, never knowing that when their physical life is over they are facing an eternity of judgement, turmoil and separation from God.
One of the ways that people are deceived is that the devil puts the notion into their brain that a “loving God” would “never send them to hell”. The devil of course never lets the deceived know about justice, truth, faith, prayer nor actually checking out what the Lord said. They just believe what other lost souls tell them who are “experts”. Of course those “experts” are not going to be there when they face God…
In some cases, the deceived focus on the many false witnesses and false prophets that claim to be godly and claim to be “christians”. The words “test the Spirits” comes to mind. Once again, those false witnesses and false prophets will not be present when the deceived person faces the Lord.
The Bible even tells us what God will say to the deceived, “Depart from me, you workers of iniquity, I never knew you…”. Of course, the deceived ignore that part because they are so deceived and so convinced that scripture was not “God breathed” as scripture tells us but, written by men.
There is even a passage in the book of Revelation that talks about how some may try to argue with God at their judgement. It takes a great deal of arrogance to argue with God Almighty yet, scripture tells us that some will.

Re: The Deception
Have you ever seen this one?
2 corinthians 2:16
To those who are perishing, we are a dreadful smell of death and doom. But to those who are being saved, we are a life-giving perfume. And who is adequate for such a task as this?

Re: The Deception
I'm going to address your post @RV. I always felt that the deception would be how the antichrist fooled people into believing he was Christ returned. It didn't occur to me about the Alien thing until the past 10 years or less.
The thing about Revelation that always got me...first it was scary and i avoided it...but i've now done at least 3 studies on it and learn something everytime i do it, 2, the beheadings of christians and others not willing to take the mark or worship the antichrist...i thought...how barbaric...no one would revert to that!!! well.....guess what.

Re: The Deception
You know @RV....i've read books on the UFO phenomenon and the abductions and what the space brothers are telling those that they abduct...and while we're at it do you know that no christians are ever abducted...it is atheists, new agers, people like that. They are told that Jesus is a great prophet but that he had it wrong or that we got it wrong somehow...that lucifer brought light and wanted to give wonderful gifts to man...understanding and all that good stuff. new consciousness...HIGHER consciousness...we are gods. Put man back on the right path.
Also, abductions or these visitations have been abruptly stopped by calling on the name of the LORD. THEY do not like that one bit.

Re: The Deception
but now that i think about it. @RV...I think we are going through that alien hoax right now and it may get worse as more and more people separate themselves from God.
HOSEA 4:6 — My people perish through lack of knowledge
1 JOHN 4:1–Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world.
1 TIMOTHY 4:1–Now the Spirit expressly says that in later times some will depart from the faith by devoting themselves to deceitful spirits and teachings of demons…

It has always amazed me that no one seems to put that all together! Strong Christians are never "abducted" by aliens and never bothered by "ghosts", "spirits", etc. There is no question in my mind that both are the devil manifesting himself in and to them.

There is power in the name of Jesus but, only to those who know Him, follow Him & worship Him. The Bible tells us that a) we must be born again b) we must admit our need for Him (confess with our mouth) c) we must pick up our cross and follow Him.
The account in the book of Genesis tells me that the devil used those same tactics with Adam and Eve. Man has been sinning ever since.
