is it possible that everyone who ever caught this, caught it from someone who visited a dog vet? and everyone whos died from it, they caught it the first time they did catch it?

I'm not sure where you are going with this.   My 18 year old brought it to my house from my neighbor whom he worked with and he hasn't been in  a vet's office in years.   My wife has always got the dog's vaccinations at low cost clinics at a local feed store.
