And this is what irritates the living daylights out of me.  The government repeatedly pulls this stunt, and repeatedly gets away with it.

What 'stunt'?  The one where they get big corporations to do their dirty work for them, as they know it's the only way Conservatives, (aka, half the population), will go along with yet one more liberty being denied the general populous.  Which is what it always eventually comes down to, because they know, too, that every corporation down the chain will follow suit, and, before you know it, that particular lost liberty is now the norm.

...and millions of fools keep plugging along w/o even realizing how well they've been manipulated.

Wouldnt get to court if the bakery is halal certified, 2 reasons - 1. You are asking them to perform something that would make their certificate invalid. 2. Are you asking for a cake in the shape of Jesus? That would be considered blasphemous (and by default put the bakers life in danger)
