I remember the day after I brought Licorice home (he'd been abandoned by a family who moved away from my employer's neighborhood). I took him to the vet to get checked out, didn't even know if he was a he or she yet. After a few minutes, I heard this loud, almost hysterical laughing coming from the back. When two of the gals came out front and were still laughing, I asked what on earth was so funny. And they responded "your cat". One gal started talking about how typically when you open a carrier with a cat there's usually one of two reactions--either they come flying out like a bullet, or they'll do everything possible to keep you from pulling them out. BUT, they said when they opened the door Licorice comes sauntering out and strutting as if "Look at me...have you ever seen anyone so handsome?"

I took one of my cats to the Vet once to have her neutered. She was from a litter of feral strays. I thought she was a male but a couple of hours later he calls me and says "I can't find your cat's testicles."

Turns out she was a female. I was a novice but he was supposed to be a VET for Gods sake! Awesome cat she was too!

I also had one of her gorgeous gentle and good natured brothers who that idiot Vet killed sometime later through sheer negligence. I coulda killed him! It still really upsets me when I think about it!

He was the only Vet in town at the time but I never went back.

Awwwwww, what a bummer. So sorry you lost your baby.

My cat Rocky, is MY cat, I'm the one who talked the lady into giving her to me, even though she had already been promised to someone else, I'm the one who took care of her........fast forward 14 years? And, she's totally become my husband's cat, she totally snubs me! He'll say, "hi Rocky" and she'll jump up on the couch with him, I'll say,"come here Rocky" and put out my hand and, I swear she deliberately turns, looks at me, then walks away......OK, I'll remember that, next time you're hungry! LOL.....

It may have something to do with the medication I had to give her twice a day, for 20 days, ointment in her eye and, Prednisone pills, I just got 2 doses down her throat, then she started trying to bite me, so I had to crush the pills, dissolve them in water and, use a syringe.
