Bots visiting this board ...

What's with these bots identifying themselves by authentic corporate logos, like Google? They would seem to represent that organization in an official sense.

What is their purpose, and does this board get any remuneration from them for whatever it is they're doing here, as they would seem to be here for monetary reasons?

Google, Bing,  Qwant, search engines visit everyday as bots. Many times a day.
Other bots are listed as guest,  Microsoft is the biggest info gatherer here.

If you use any search engine(with the exception of DDG) and type in a name the bot will search the inquiry.

Google provides the ads here(Pretty sure) , so they check their ad numbers regularly.

I don't see any ads, myself.

It's advantageous to have bots listed as such.
Formats like vbulletin(TPF/ tPF/ SI) just list the bots as guest without any distinction.

So these mega-corporation bots like Google, Bing, Qwant etc - gather your opinions, politics, ideas, and so forth, and then store them in an expanding profile of you that is more or less permanent.

I personally don't like the idea of Microsoft and Google keeping a profile on me. Their politics are definitely not mine.

That's an excellent reason to use different names when you post and otherwise disguise yourself, it seems to me.
