BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - An executive order preventing the use of Critical Race Theory in Louisiana’s K-12 public education system has been signed by Gov. Jeff Landry, his office announced on Tuesday morning, Aug. 27.
According to the governor’s office, “Critical Race Theory (CRT) includes divisive teachings that instruct students to view life through the lens of race and victimhood. Governor Landry believes students should be learning about American exceptionalism and the principles embodied in State and Federal Constitutions of the United States of America that recognize the equal value of every individual.”
“This executive order is a much-needed sigh of relief for parents and students across our state, especially as kids are heading back to school,” said Landry. “Teaching children that they are currently or destined to be oppressed or to be an oppressor based on their race and origin is wrong and has no place in our Louisiana classrooms. I am confident that under Dr. Brumley’s leadership our education system will continue to head in the right direction, prioritizing American values and common-sense teachings.”

I think I'm comin' to LIKE y'all's coon-ass culture down there! Traditional values - and putting up a fight. Lookin' after your neighbors - even to the Cajun Navy.
I'd head that way...but for that humidity. I left, once - Denver for Cleveland, in the mid-1990s. You didn't much notice the humidity when you'd lived in Cleveland for most of your life; but coming back from a dry heat and thin, bracing air...is a shock.
Now that I'm in Montana...I guess the next move I make is gonna be in a VA-supplied cardboard coffin...

Don't imagine slights. You forget, I'm a man of the road - I did almost a year in Houston, and some Navy time in Meridian, Mississippi. Been to Atlanta a few times - my ex had some roots down there. And been to Florida a couple of times.
The days of "Uneasy Rider" and "Macon County Line" are long done...those were Left Coast fantasies about Southern cracker rubes. But Ohio has plenty of them, and for that matter, New York is plenty rural, too. A couple of Buffalo radio DJs made hay mocking rural Erie and Chautauqua dairy farmers, who were often members of the local volunteer fire company.
Not afraid of them...except in cases where one of them gets elected Sheriff and discovers all the profit to come out of confiscating money and cars as possible drug-trafficking proceeds.
