Re: Home Prices Soar 47% Since 2020
I guess I live in a perfect area. My 22 year old son saved and bought a house last year.
Between land and construction, I should be in a home on 6.63 acres for less than $400k. I am putting a lot of sweat equity into it.

Its all false inflation and its just making the dream impossible for young new home buyers . I paid $49 grand for my ranch house and I got an offer of $875 , 000 from some people that want out of NYCity just 2 weeks ago . I could move to a nice house in Pennsylvania and bank $400 grand but I like it out here and we've got the kids all close by . I also like it out here and the NY City people that are moving out here aren't changing the politics and atmosphere just yet and they're bringing all that new cash out here . But if enough of them move out they will change things and the NY City cancer will take hold .
I've thought about going smaller but that would mean a move out of state and away from the kids , the wife's 57 million plants in the back yard and the fish she takes care of in the little pond . Our house is where everyone comes to eat ,drink and be merry throughout the year so moving out is not going to happen right now . Things might change but not right now - not even if the doubled the price .

I totally understand. My daughters and the grandkids are only twenty minutes away. I am very happy and don't plan on moving any time soon.Daily Bread wrote:hurricanehook wrote:Sounds like you are in Heaven already!
