China's Solar power and green credentials
This surprised me.
China was on track to add 150 GW of Solar power last year. In 2022 they added 87 GW, more than the total capacity of America.
Sinopec reported they have reached peak Gas demand, some experts experts believe they have reached peak total carbon emissions also

China has built a forest city

............. be able to absorb nearly 10,000 tons of CO2 and 57 tons of micro-particles every year. Due to the expansion of urban drainage systems and plant surfaces, it will simultaneously produce around 900 tonnes of oxygen, ....................

Have to agree with the OP on this. When it comes to environmental and health issues the Chinese are paragons paradigms masters of virtue. Well don't take my word for it, ask the OP. When was the last time anyone saw stray cats, dogs, lizards, or rats near a Chinese restaurant? This fact alone should dissuade any negativity about Chinese intentions.

Re: China's Solar power and green credentials
Another tidbit of 2023 China stats: China's solar increased by 33.7 % in the first quarter, while coal power increased at 1.8%.
Solar now has a cumulative 430 GW online, almost half of China's cumulative total of coal power plants; 1,130 GW)
they are still the worlds biggest coal user and probably will be for some time.
That is a lot of solar though

Re: China's Solar power and green credentials
China is an absolute paradise.
Just ask some of the Olympic athletes who were there. Don't waste your time on the pro-totalitarian media propagandists; go to the people who were there to compete.
Ask anyone NOT of the government who either escaped there, or who has been there on business. Ask about the waste (Ghost Cities; new skyscrapers blown up, because government priorities changed, etc) and the filth, the miserable conditions that exist outside the Potemkin office complexes of connected Chinese with clean desk jobs.
Ask about the suicide rate at FOXCONN's iPhone plants. Ask why industrial slums need catch nets along the perimeter of taller buildings - if it's to keep workers from suiciding themselves when they've had enough.
Bottom line is, if YOU want to live in Paradise, all you have to do is buy a ticket to fly to a Chinese airport. The visa will probably be easy to get.
For you. An exit visa for a Chinese, not so easy.
That should tell you something, but probably it will not.
