The Second Shot Heard Round he World
This morn I read of a court decision barring a candidate from the election process; It may foretell to us and the world the future direction of this country.
Something brought into the open from the darkened alleyways of my learned youth, the words of Longfellow during our Civil War.
I share them and a bit about them here.

Whatever one believes, one might send up prayers for the future of this nation.
Merry Christmas to all. 2023 anno domini.

Nothing says "democracy" like barring a candidate from the ballot. I'm not a fan of Trump (though I did vote for him twice), but I find it a bit unsettling that the very people who always talk about the importance of defending democracy are trying to suppress voting for a certain candidate, and even rigging elections to keep them from winning. Sounds a bit hypocritical, no?
But, let's be honest here, Trump was never going to win Colorado anyway. Pretty much everyone there is a dope-smoking Marxist, many of them originally from states like California. If there are any exceptions, they should vote for RFK, Jr. instead.
Ultimately, though, I don't think voting for anyone is going to do any good. The Federal "government" is openly corrupt and openly hostile toward patriotic Americans. They are rooted in Marxism and Satanism, and operate more like a criminal enterprise. And it's not just one party doing it; it's both of them. You'd be hard-pressed to find any real difference between the "Democrats" and the "Republicans" these days. The whole thing is just one big illusion.
I truly believe our problems cannot be solved at the ballot box. Our problems are spiritual, not political. We need to fix ourselves before we can fix this country.

i don't know that they smoke dope...although that might not surprise me...BUT>..they are terminally leftists. I don't doubt that they would probably turn me in for being a maga supporter if it came to that.

Starting off a riot to overthrow an election result cannot be accepted in a civilised country.
Trump did that. He has lost about 60 court cases trying to overthrow the election result.
he has destroyed lives and damaged the country by his actions
Rudi has been fined for similar actions.

The Democrats have done all sorts of things to prevent President Trump from running again. The Democrats will oppose ANYONE in ANY way possible who actually represents middle America.
If the court ruling stands and President Trump is prevented from running, is there any point in voting? Democrats will defraud and lie to discredit ANYONE that actually represents the voters so what is the point?

Texas and other states one or more are considering removing Biden from the ballot.

I was reading that RFK, Jr. came out and criticized this ruling, saying that democracy should be left up to the voters, not the courts or the government. And he's right.
I've been supporting RFK, Jr. for a while now, because he's more of a populist than Trump ever was. Even if the System doesn't let him win, voting for him anyway would be a great way to give the proverbial finger to the two-party power structure.
And besides, we need someone to cool this country's jets a bit. Biden is taking things too far to the left, and Trump is taking things too far to the right. I don't believe our country was meant to go to either extreme.

Not gonna happen. The "GOP" would rather play fair and clean, even if it means they end up losing yet another election. Anything they consider turns out to be just that, a consideration. Nothing more. And even if they did try, the backlash would be so intense, they would back off anyway. They have no backbone. At least the left and their "Democrat" Party walk the walk and never let up.

That's a nice thought. Page is pulled, though, or the link is incorrect.
But here's my thoughts about prayer:
God helps those who help themselves.
The Founders, in Philadelphia, didn't hold a prayer meeting - they held a meeting to send a challenge to the demented King and his tyrant ministers. And they were ready to act on it.
We could do the same. In fact, much of the heavy lifting has been done for us. The Declaration is applicable, almost word-for-word, to our current situation.
