Santa And Satan
Ever wondered why the letters in the word "Santa" are the exact same letters in the word "Satan"? Ever wondered why Christmas is pushed as a time to buy, buy, buy? Ever wondered why Christmas has been pushed as a secular holiday instead of the religious holiday that it is? Ever wondered why Christmas has been pushed as a time for materialism rather than a time for reflection and rededication to the Lord?
Re: Santa And Satan
Nope.
"Santa" is a Spanish (and similar European) language variant of "Saint."
Santa Claus is Saint Nicolas.
Santa Maria is Saint Mary.
Santa Anna is...a Mexican revolutionary best forgotten. But, you maybe get my point...

Thank you. Why people want to ruin any and everything good, kind, and sweet about Christmas that is all about giving is beyond me.Casey Jones wrote:Nope.

Re: Santa And Satan
As the Bible states quite clearly, there will come a time, (today?), when people will think what is good is bad and what is bad is good. The Bible talks about people thinking that what is "holy", "righteous", "pure", etc. is actually not. The comments about Satan being "good" is an example of how things have went down. People will worship the devil thinking that he is "god" while rejecting and denying the real God.

I take it that you don't celebrate Christmas with your family, RV?

Actually, we DO celebrate the RELIGIOUS HOLIDAY rather than the materialistic, narcissistic one that seems to be everywhere these days. Christmas was ALWAYS about the birth of Christ rather than the "stuff" that retailers want to make money from.
Both my kids and Grandkids know the REAL and TRUE facts about Christmas rather than the fabricated ones that revolve around the devil and materialism.
Re: Santa And Satan
My dear in-laws - who walk the Christian talk closer than anyone I know - find joy in drawing names, and sharing gifts with one another at Christmas gatherings. There's nothing un-Christian about it. Besides, of the holy days, it's Easter that holds the most significance. Christmas is close, but it's The Reserection, understandably, that holds the most meaning for them.RV wrote:Red Lily wrote:I take it that you don't celebrate Christmas with your family, RV?

To hear you tell it, bringing others a bit of joy via sharing gifts is sinful. How sad.

Re: Santa And Satan
We have always celebrated Christ at Christmas. I get to see my granddaughters singing in a Christmas musical at their church this year. I don't think they will be singing about Santa, but they will be getting lots of gifts.

Obviously you injected YOUR own interpretation/words because I said absolutely nothing about gifts or joy. What I said was that we don't do the materialism thing but, like all secularists, you want to put your own spin on anything you don't agree with.
Thankfully what I said is in writing and no matter how you twist, interject or lie about what was in my comment, it stands on its own.

Now you're going to try to tell us that you didn't infer that you don't share gifts with your - and I quote - (emphasis, mine)RV wrote:2cent wrote:My dear in-laws - who walk the Christian talk closer than anyone I know - find joy in drawing names, and sharing gifts with one another at Christmas gatherings. ...expression? Nice attempt at game-playing. Furthermore, and far more seriously, how dare you presume to know my relationship with God?
