Re: Costs of Personal Health Care, in General
Used to be that most countries wished they could copy our medical system. Now, however, I wish we could copy Aussie's.Red Lily wrote:RV wrote:Red Lily wrote:HawkTheSlayer wrote:Imaging is a major rip off at hospitals.
Imaging centers are cheaper.
Lots of times the docs own stock in a particular hospital they are affilliated with. They want you to use that(their) facility.
Ask them to set up an appointment at the imaging center of your choice.
Imaging at hospitals is free here.
Nothing is really "free", SOMEONE is paying for it you can be certain.
They do, obviously! It's funded by an employee 2% Medicare levy (which I never had a problem with paying for what you get back) and by the government (taxes) so maybe I should say "many don't have to pay" rather than 'free' but either way it's an excellent top tier system and it works.
Is there a definitive, easy to answer #, for what you do have to pay for? Not looking for every complicated exception, or whatnot. Just trying to get the general gist of what's up for you Aussies.

That was the first step. It was INTENDED to fail; so as to make critics and those opposed, just give up and give in.
Once the public was fed up with that expensive, life-denying, Kafkaesque circle-jerk of sham insurance...they'd allow a pure socialist takeover of medicine.
So the Left thought. They don't understand why socialism doesn't work, and don't understand what we see in socialized medicine not working in other nations.
