I was working and didn't have the glasses to view it, but the Sun dimmed and it was cooler for a while. I wasn't in the full path. It was 82% blocked here. I'm more interested in the total eclipse coming in April.

I went on the back deck around 11am to hand crack pecans. It was a little hot on the aluminum. Lol
So i decided to bring the battery out there, hook up the inverter and a fan, and put 100 watts of panels out to maintain..
I got it all set up and the controller just "wasn't working right on a cloudless day". So i put out 25 more watts. Pfttt. So input out 25watts more. Pfft.
I picked those up and put our another 100 watt panel. 200 watts total. Controller only supposed to handle 10 amps. Lol.
Still , only about 12.9 volts coming in with 200 watts.
I checked the connections several times and scratched my head.
About 12:15pm , I was listening to Festival Acadien et Creole live at Gerard Park in Lafayette on KRVS (still listening now. Excellent sound quality) when someone mentioned the excellent weather and eclipse.
Lol. I forgot all about it. Lol. We had about 80% here. It was strange but not as dark as one I saw in college.

We were supposed to get 70 percent here. I was outside all day - sold a rollup tonneau cover off my now-wrecked pickup (took it off before the trip that I never finished) to a guy from Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. A young guy, with a similar truck. Guess he's a startup contractor - wants to cover his tools in his truck at the jobsite.
Well, I had to wait for him because of traffic on the Interstate, and then we had to fit it in and put all the screws and pins in. Two hours waiting and then 90 minutes fitting the cover on. Good piece of work to get it out of my garage and make $300.
But I'd completely forgotten about the solar eclipse. We had clouds and sunshine, here, and there were times it looked a bit harsh and wintry...but nothing that would give you pause.
