Calls for the an inquiry into BBC's coverage of the Israel/ Gaza crisis have erupted after it ran footage with a man accused of being a Hamas propaganda actor.

The 6 o clock News tonight featured footage which critics claim was created for propaganda purposes and featured Saleh al-Jafarawi, a man who has been accused of being a famous Hamas propaganda actor.

However, the BBC has insisted that the footage of the carnage was genuine and has been verified by themselves and Associated Press while admitting that Saleh al-Jafarawi was there but disputing that he is "a crisis actor".

But this latest incident has fed into deeper concerns being expressed about the BBC's coverage of the crisis.

This latest controversy followed the BBC being accused of accepting the word of the Hamas ministry of health's false claim that Israel had blown up a hospital when in fact it was the terrorist group itself which was responsible.
