Misinformation Bill
There is talk of a misinformation bill.
' The purpose of the draft Bill is to provide greater transparency of the actions taken by digital platforms to manage seriously harmful misinformation and disinformation on their services.
The public consultation has been an important opportunity for the Australian community and industry to have their say. '
I'll have my say on this officially.
I disagree with it, people are allowed to be wrong. Where also does this power end?

Re: Misinformation Bill
Of course this won't apply to intentional, government disinformation sources such as ABC.( Australian Broadcast Company)
Only purveyors of factual news like SKY, etc.

It's a relief to hear you disagree w/it. It's Thought Police all over again. Add to that, the stifling effect of cutting off Freedom of Speech.

Keep in mind, this is an Australian bill I'm assuming because once again Sprint provides no link, while always whingeing about others not providing links.
And I'm not doing his homework for him.
If he doesn't supply the link to the quote, per fair use as required, I'll have no choice but to move the thread from view.

Re: Misinformation Bill
The problem as I see it is who's definition of "misinformation" is to be used, the governments? The Democrats? The Republicans? The Squads? Terrorists? Radicals? Who decides what is "misinformation" versus what is fact?
Re: Misinformation Bill
There are no 'Republicans' and 'Democrats' in Australia.

I appreciate the link. But that quote is nowhere in that link!
It needs to be inserted into the OP, also.
And a proper quote inserted.
Also it says I cannot quote replies in this thread anymore!

The quote is definitely in the link under the sub-heading 'Outcome' if you scroll down.

Re: Misinformation Bill
It is indeed. Thank you.
So much work for nothing when a simple link inserted into the OP would have done.
Energy vampires I call them.
