Re: Yellowstone
@HawkTheSlayer, ya got the show on? Our menu says "Yellowstone" should be one, but 60 Minutes is what's showing.
Wuzzup down your way?

Re: Yellowstone
Somehow I missed it.
I don't read the birdcage liner anymore - it's a Warren Buffet newspaper (Lee Newspapers, a division of Berserk Hellaway Corporation) and it's all-government, only-government. They're mouthpieces for the Hard Left - that became obvious during the Plandemic, when they parroted the CDC Narrative, to the letter.
So, I didn't learn they were shooting in town.
Darby's about 60 miles from here; but Ruby's Cafe is just a dozen blocks away. I'm by it just about every day...I noticed it was marked CLOSED. I never ate there, but there's a story with Ruby's.
Ruby was a real person - her husband opened the restaurant, and of course she helped out, along with various hired help. And they were successful...this was, about 40 years ago.
Well, the two got word of land for sale, near where the interstate goes along what was then the edge of town...up on Reserve Street Extension. Cloverleaf two blocks away.
So Ruby and her husband bought it. It was Ruby's brainchild - she wanted a CLASSY motor hotel, not a Bates Motel or a Motel Six. They put it up...and yes, the plans to expand Reserve Street came to be. So did a new boom period, with the university expanding, and the Forest Service putting a firefighting school in...an NWS office...a National Park Service regional HQ near the airport.
Business boomed. Then competition came in - first, the low-dollar competition, a Quality Inn. Then a Hilton. Then a Holiday Inn high-rise; and then a Fairbridge Suites.
Rudy's Inn was looking dated; and Ruby went the way of all flesh. I don't know whether the husband went beforehand or after, but Ruby's Inn, the sole property of a corporation they set up, was contested by the children in Probate Court for a couple of years.
Don't know who wound up with it. But that corporation, whoever owns it, decided it was time to build a new, national-brand property. Ruby's Inn came down, summer of 2019. JUST IN TIME for the Plandemic.
Took them time in the New Normal to arrange new construction, and now - it's nearly finished, not opened yet, but Corn Pop is completely destroying the middle-class leisure industry. I wonder if the new property ever opens.
Meantime, Ruby's Diner continued on - obviously sold long ago, but the buyers kept the name. It's looking seedy, now...I thought it had just closed; I guess it's been long-term rented.
It may be the last step before demolition. It's not really a good place for a slow-paced diner - Denny's, three blocks northeast, closed a year ago.
