As well, the President is the Chief EXECUTIVE. The Legislative Branch makes laws, the Executive Branch implements them.

That includes law enforcement, meaning that the President is effectively the nation's top police official.

I'm not so certain that a 'Police State' is not what America has with a criminal and his crime family in the WH. It seems that 'laws' and policies are made to punish, harass & berate those who are opposed to the current administration, rather than enforced as they are supposed to be.

What we have now, is a pretender to the Executive Office...a dementia patient, dead from the neck up. He's incapable of independent thought.

The unseen puppetmasters are running the show, and their aim is to grow their own and the Party's power. To that end they ARE letting law enforcement run unsupervised. Or, rather, they are ordering it/subsystems (FBI, Federal Marshalls, DEA, IRS, and cities where the DoJ has taken over police departments, for Ray-Cyssism) to operate in political fashion. Selectively enforce, and persecute.

Same result, but we're here because the CONgress and its Uniparty will NOT DO ITS JOB. It's IMPERATIVE that this addled old man be removed, both for his handlers' criminal malfeasance and simply because he's unfit. That's BEFORE even exploring the election theft.

But the whole Dumbo crime syndicate is fine with it, and most of the Unipartisans love it, too. The Power Elites at work...keeping Americans enslaved.
